Description

Summary:

MenteeBot V3.0 is a full-size humanoid robot prototype (≈ 1.75 m tall) developed by Mentee Robotics in Israel. With 40+ degrees of freedom, 25 kg payload capacity, custom actuators delivering 3× more power than typical platforms, hot-swappable battery systems, and 360° sensing, the robot is targeted at both industrial and domestic applications where adaptable, intelligent machines work alongside humans.

Editorial:

When Mentee Robotics introduced the V3.0 version of its humanoid platform earlier this year, the message was clear: humanoid robots are shifting from demonstration stages into application-focused machines. Standing about 1.75 meters tall and weighing approximately 70 kg, MenteeBot V3.0 combines strength, perception and intelligence in a human-sized package.

The real standout lies in its hardware and software synergy. Custom-built actuators claim up to three times more power than competitor modules, supporting tasks such as lifting, precise manipulation and enduring operation in industrial or warehouse settings. The hands, for example, are rated at a pinch force of around 30 N per finger, enabling fine-grip operations in addition to heavier work.

On the sensing side, the robot integrates fisheye side cameras and a rear camera system to provide 360° situational awareness, coupled with depth sensors and advanced environment mapping. This is layered with a full-stack AI architecture: MenteeBot employs simulation-to-reality (Sim2Real) learning pipelines, reinforcement learning for motion control and even large-language-model (LLM) integration for verbal command interpretation and high-level task planning.

Notably, MenteeBot’s design supports hot-swappable battery modules that aim for continuous operation — a key requirement if humanoids are to function in real-world shifts rather than short demos. With a reported payload capacity of 25 kg and walking speed up to 1.5 m/s, it hints at applications from warehousing and logistics to service or home assistance.

Nevertheless, as with many humanoids at this stage, commercial-scale deployment remains ahead. While the V3.0 shows impressive specification claims, long-term field trials, uptime metrics and integration into large-scale operations are still to be proven. For now, MenteeBot V3.0 is best understood as a high-capability platform that bridges research and application — an important step toward next-generation humanoid collaboration.

In a broader context, MenteeBot underscores how the humanoid robotics field is evolving: the challenge is less “can it walk” and much more “can it work reliably alongside humans for hours on end.” With V3.0, Mentee Robotics is raising the bar for what “work-ready humanoid” could mean.
