SUMMARY:

 

XiaoWu (小悟 / “Little Wu”) is Tencent Robotics X Lab’s 5th‑generation human‑habitat robot, designed as a general‑purpose home and eldercare assistant. It features a wheel‑leg hybrid mobility system, large‑area tactile skin, multi‑finger dexterous hands, and safe physical‑interaction capabilities. Tencent positions XiaoWu as a robot meant to live in human environments, offering mobility assistance, companionship, and daily‑task support.  

 

EDITORIAL:

 

XiaoWu is one of the most ambitious home‑robot designs in China. Tencent Robotics X Lab is not trying to build a factory humanoid or a research prototype—they are building a domestic companion and mobility assistant that can:

 

- navigate cluttered homes,

- and adapt to real‑world terrain using a wheel‑leg hybrid chassis.
