Description

SUMMARY:

XIAO TUO is a 120 cm, 40 kg compact humanoid robot developed by TOPSTAR Group for industrial R&D, light‑duty automation, and educational robotics. It features 30 degrees of freedom, 3‑hour runtime, 0.83 m/s walking speed, and electric servo actuation. Designed for practical, repetitive tasks such as sorting, tray loading, material handling, screw assembly, and folding clothes, XIAO TUO is optimized for safe human‑robot collaboration and stable indoor navigation.

TOPSTAR unveiled XIAO TUO at its 2025 Global Open Day, marking the company’s entry into the humanoid robotics market.

EDITORIAL:

XIAO TUO represents TOPSTAR’s strategic move into humanoid robotics, but with a distinctly industrial‑pragmatic philosophy. Instead of pursuing high agility or expressive interaction, TOPSTAR built a robot that is compact, affordable, and immediately useful on factory floors and in research labs.

Its 30‑DOF architecture and servo‑based actuation emphasize precision over power, making it ideal for tasks that require repeatability rather than heavy lifting. The robot’s small footprint and 40 kg weight allow it to operate safely around humans, while its LiDAR‑based perception supports stable navigation in cluttered industrial environments.

XIAO TUO is not designed to compete with full‑size humanoids like Figure 01 or Tesla Optimus. Instead, it fills a growing niche: light‑industrial humanoids that can be deployed quickly, maintained easily, and integrated into existing workflows without major infrastructure changes.

Its $21,000 price point makes it one of the most accessible humanoids on the market, especially for universities, robotics labs, and small‑to‑mid‑scale manufacturers seeking a programmable, ROS‑compatible platform.
