SUMMARY:
Star‑1 is a full‑size, 171 cm, 65 kg humanoid robot developed by RobotEra. It features 55 degrees of freedom, fully direct‑drive joints, 12‑DOF dexterous hands, 3.6 m/s running speed, 2 m/s walking speed, and ERA‑42 AI for end‑to‑end perception, planning, and manipulation. It is currently one of the fastest bipedal humanoid robots in the world.
EDITORIAL:
Star‑1 is RobotEra’s flagship demonstration of native embodied intelligence: a humanoid robot built from the ground up for speed, agility, and high‑precision manipulation. Unlike many humanoids that rely on harmonic drives or geared actuators, Star‑1 uses fully direct‑drive joints delivering up to 400 Nm torque and 25 rad/s joint speed, enabling explosive lower‑body power and extremely smooth upper‑body control.
Its 3.6 m/s running speed — validated in outdoor Gobi Desert tests — places it among the fastest humanoids ever recorded. Meanwhile, its 12‑DOF hands and ERA‑42 AI model allow it to perform fine manipulation tasks such as using chopsticks, cooking, and precise assembly.
Star‑1 is not a research prototype. RobotEra positions it as a commercial‑ready humanoid for manufacturing, logistics, and high‑precision service tasks.
